37Jesus replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”
38This is the first and greatest commandment.
39And the second is like it: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Today is Valentine’s Day. A time to spend time with your loved ones. Valentine Day is not just for married couples or courting couples. Is also to celebrate your love for your family and friends. Are you struggling, unhappy, having quarrel with someone? Today’s verse reminds us that God is love, those who do not love does not know God. This means we need to love God and also love others. We can’t just love God without loving others. Remember what is the greatest commandment Jesus had told us? The 1st commandment is to love God and the second is to love your neighbor.
Sadly, there are still Christians who claim to be Christian but do not practice this. Let me give an example. A try to reconcile with the B but B totally refuse to reconcile when in the 1st place the wrong party was B the one who started the conflict who refuse to reconcile. B still keep accusing A. B never practice fully what is require as Christian. A still tolerate with B hopping B will be able to apply the lessons learn from the Bible and from church sermons. A has been praying for years for B that B will realize mistake, repent and reconcile. A has being praying B will hear God's word through B church sermons for many years that God's word will touch B and change B to realize B mistake. But till now, B heart is harden. Who is practicing what Jesus has told us to do? A is the one. A continues to love B doing what is require as Christian to love our neighbor despite B sins.
Do you know stress from broken relationship can cause health problems? Research studies by doctors have shown that it can affect your health with broken bad relationship. It can affect mental health and your body with many health risk. Because of B, A has health problems and need medical attention but B totally ignore A and even did things that make A heart to be broken further. Despite B causing A many stress problems, A decide to leave the matter to God's hand. Life is better now with A when A decided to leave the matter to God. A health is better.
I hope with this knowledge if you are in broken relationship, remember try to be happy. Turn to God. Pray and seek Him. He is the one that never leaves you. He loves you. Stay healthy physically, mentally and spiritually. Be happy. Remember to love others no matter what they did to you. Choose to forgive as Christ forgive you for your sins.
